AppTweak alternative for indie developers

Updated 8 November 2026

Lazy ASO is the AppTweak alternative for indie developers. Your AI does the work: through the built-in MCP server, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex research searches, check names and write the listing, and you approve the upload in one click. It recommends keywords you can win without a brand or an ad budget: 67% of new apps in a top 10 had fewer than 10 ratings. It has real data: Apple's official search popularity from Apple's monthly top-500 searches in 87 countries, plus a measured chance of reaching the top 10 when your app name starts with the search. It costs $9 a month, $99 a year or $149 once. AppTweak Essential is shown at $79 a month, $949 billed annually, as of November 2026.

What AppTweak is good at

AppTweak is a full ASO and market platform. It covers over 30 million keywords in 100+ countries on both stores. It tracks competitors' metadata and creatives, ratings and reviews, and featuring. It has a reporting studio, Apple Ads management, market intelligence and AI agents. If you run a studio with a marketing team and ad spend, that breadth is worth paying for.

What an indie developer needs

One person with a new iOS app has a smaller question: what do I call it, and in which countries can it get found. Lazy ASO is built around that question.

Where the odds come from

We scanned 350,712 App Store results, one for every official search in every country, and followed 82,818 apps under six months old. 41,891 of them reached a top 10 somewhere, and 67% of the new apps in a top 10 had fewer than 10 ratings. Then we counted what put them there.

Name of a new app under 100 ratings, counted down to #200Reached the top 10
Starts with the search, then more words5–10%
"Brand: search", after a colon1–3%
Search not in the name2–3%

With no other app starting its name with the search, new apps with 0 ratings reached the top 10 in 20–40% of cases. An app released in April 2026 sits second for "sky map" in the US with one rating, between apps with 496K and 376K ratings. Read the research.

Your AI can do the work

Lazy ASO ships with an MCP server. Connect it in one click to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, and your AI finds searches, tests names, writes the listing and uploads it when you confirm. Nothing is ever submitted for review on its own, and every upload can be undone.

When to stay with AppTweak

If none of that is you, Lazy ASO covers the part that moves a new app: the name, the country and the odds. Comparing more tools? See the best ASO tools for indie developers.
