ASO checklist for an app you built with AI

Before you submit: put a real search at the start of the name, make sure few other apps are named with it, add the languages where people search for this, and write a description that says plainly what the app does and who it's for, because AI assistants repeat it when they recommend apps. Skip the things that don't move rankings, like screenshot count and frequent updates.

Name

Start with a real search. The naming guide has the steps.
Drop the colon trick. "Brand: keyword" does about the same as no keyword.
Find a name few others have. The chance of the top 10 falls from about 20% with up to two other named apps to about 3% with five or more.
Make it describe the app. People who find what they searched for stay.

Subtitle and keywords

Subtitle, 30 characters: your next most important phrase.
Keywords, 100 characters: separate with commas, and don't repeat words from the name or subtitle.

Languages

Add the languages where this is searched. Logus reached the top 3 with under 100 ratings in 40 countries by translating its name for each one.
Check every language a country uses. In Kazakhstan that means Russian and Kazakh, in Switzerland German, French and Italian.

Description, written for AI assistants too

Say what it is, who it's for and what only it does, in plain sentences.
Name the situations people ask about. That's what an assistant matches against a question.

ChatGPT recommended our app Bible Widget using words from its description, with no ratings and no web pages about it. On 5 October 2026, App Store Connect showed 32 views from ChatGPT and 21 downloads: 66%, against 4.7% from App Store search (29 September to 5 November).
